Are you using RedHat or Fedora? Which version? And how did you delete the kernel?

Don't forget, never use the root account for daily operations.

I was using a root account to do something that can only be done from a root account.
I just don't know linux (I can ssh arround, and grep.. but other than that).

It's pretty hard to delete your kernel seeing that it's hiding in /boot. Although using "rm -i" by default is a good idea.

I, uh, remounted it. And didn't know what it was. I typed rm, and y a couple of times, before I realised that mount probably didn't equal copy.
