  • XMen 3

More properly known as "X-Men: The Last Stand", has its trailer out. Just caught it today (watched it in 720p mode... I love broadband ). Here is the link to the trailer:

Looks very cool . Kelsey Grammer as Beast looks strange, but the voice just works. Jean Grey as the Phoenix looks to be fairly well done.

The true test is at the end of May, but from the trailer, looks pretty amazing so far .

I am looking forward to this one

It's nice to see GOOD comic book movies: X-Men, Batman (Begins)...Superman could be another story entirely, time will tell.

Well Bryan Singer, who did the first two XMen movies is not doing the 3rd because he was hired to direct the new Superman flick.

Well, my impression of Superman is based solely on the short teaser ("And lo, I give you my Only Begotten Son, to show you the Truth and the Way")

          Btw, HD trailers kick ass!

I don't have a widescreen monitor, but I click on the 720p trailers and my monitor just barely covers the side edges . Worth it .

I had seen the teaser trailer, this is the first time I've seen the extended one.

            Looking good.

Kelsey Grammer is the blue guy?

              ACK!

Does anyone have any links to non-.mov versions of the trailers? For whatever reason the provided vids aren't playing properly (start-stop video, sound plays fine) for me.

                    OOh boy x3!

It seems to lack a lot of collosus. Although the story line seems vaguely familiar so it'll be cool to finally see a comic book story line that I am familiar with be put on the Silver Screen.

I recomend picking up "The X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills." Awesome story in and of itself and for all intents and purposes the inspiration for X2.

LOL I just downloaded the old "Dr. Strange" movie from the 70s...trippy stuff...

If they want to keep going in the X-Men, isn't the Magdalen/Clone/Jean Grey storyline next?

Oh, and let's keep a tally of sucking vs not sucking comic movies:

                            Sucking:
Daredevil, Elektra, Fantastic Four, Batman Returns, the Captain America movie, Constantine, Hellboy, ?Dark City?, Incredible Hulk

                            Non-Sucking Section, please:
                            X-Men, Spiderman, Sin City,

The major dramatic problem in the X-Men is the same as that in any Marvel comic: character bloating....especially Storm...I don't know about you but the actress playing storm is awful and they often seem desperately searching for something besides exposition and deus ex machina stuff for her to do.
                            "Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.
