              What I find amusing is that some people have such a vociferous objection to making prisons slightly more accomadating to prisonners' religious beliefs when it doesn't cost any money.

              Well, as long as said religion isn't Christianity, in which case extra money needs to allocated to morally uplift the "degenerates."

                    I find it equally amusing that it's even being DISCUSSED.

                    a) I highly doubt that toilet seat facing is pivotal to their faith

                    b) I highly doubt they ever gave it much consideration outside "the big house"

                    c) There are other solutions at hand besides modifying the existing building plans (which carries associated costs, btw...but those costs aren't mentioned)

                    d) If these people will (or run the risk of) getting violent over such trivialities, then clearly, they're in the right place, and they need to remain there....for a really long time.

                    I could go on, but why? I'll just read the latest round of nonsense instead!

                        No one said that they're getting violent, or that the toilet is pivotal to their fate. These are, again, strawmen. What happened is that the prisonners' representatives made certain suggestions to the warden to make the prison more accomodating to the prisonners' beliefs. This was one of them. And it made a trivial difference in the cost of the refurbishment.

                        I find it amazing that anyone could possibly have an objection to this. This is totally trivial. And it's not worth discussion.
