The battle of tours is also referred to as the battle of poitiers, but that terminology is rather confusing due to the later battle you mentioned.

The Martel thing is called often Battle of Tours and Portiers here....

IIRC the exact location is unknown, and was somehow in between both cities.

Yeah, I was wondering where the Battle of Poitiers had disappeared from the discussion, but then I found out it was actually the Battle of Tours. Pfft.

The 30 thousand strong Bulgarian cavalry that took part in one of the crucial battles was certainly not attacking the Arabs from behind the city walls.

I thought Avila was the capital of medieval Spain.

                You mean, of Castile?

The Battle of Lepanto (between Spain and the Turks) hasn't been mentioned, which helped to end Ottoman dominance of the Mediterannean.

The second Battle of Vienna was also important.

As for turning points in the other direction, Manzikert was pivotal in destroying in the Byzantine Empire.

Kosovo should probably also be mentioned. Serbs vs Turks.

                    Battle of Talas, 751 AD.

Chinese lost badly, but Muslims got no farther East.

If it's about pro Muslim outcomes too, then the Battle of Ain Jalut 1260 should be mentioned, where the Mamlucks stopped the Mongols
