I'm pretty sure Pekka has hundreds (thousands?) of notebooks lining the walls of his house (apartment? hovel? burrow?), every page filled, front and back, top to bottom and side to side, with cramped psychotic ramblings. Like John Doe in Seven or Rorschach in Watchmen (although Rorschach only had one book, IIRC.) Hell, he probably stacks them up for furniture.

Footie Mad, no that's not actually it. Good remembering though. I'm actually really getting finally... settled with it. I don't agree with it but hey, what are you going to do.. you know. There will be day that I will severely regret had I broken the ties. Which is, what I ultimately feared when I really was angry so I never did that. I'm not able to forgive her yet, but at some day I will, I'm getting there.


HOWEVER, it has more to do with.. well.. you know, it's in general. People have these hedonistic views that yes love is like this real thing and it should last forever. Then when you get bored, you know, it's all over. What's that all about? THat's crap right there, and stupid people do that. Yes, most people are stupid. What did you expect? Flowers and sunny days EVERY day? You know, stop being an idiot self centered person and work it. That's what it's about. It's a partnership. Things happen. Forget about it. Move on. Be happy and not an idiot. Idiots can't be happy anyway.

Cort Haus, I disagree with your reply to my OP about artists, but I understand it's not a ... one dimensional truth so I accept your view as alternative option to thinking but I do regard it foolish thinking, a whorish way of thinking. Maybe you are trying to justify pre-emptively your future actions? Listen, if you want to be a whore, be one. I'm OK with that, you don't need my acceptance, I accept you already. I think you would be weak, but not everyone can be strong like me. It's cool to be weak and it's strength to acknowledge your weaknesses. Your weakness is tendency to whoring. Just admit that much, and you're a much better person. If you deny, then you are in self denial and not better than Saddam Hussein.

About ranting, I have some new worries. I hate these Ã…landers. They really are the plague of the world. Bad people. Arrogant bastards, who take our money but never return any favours.

Now, what I want to do is get a little payback. I have called for a bombing in here before, but it seems like the leaders aren't listening to me. They are not taking a firm stand on hating Ã…land. Which makes them losers and escapists.

What I suggest is simple. A hostile takeover by me. I figured, since they don't have an army, what are they going to do? Call for who? THat's right, their masters, Finland. However, Ã…land in fact, is demilitarized zone! A LOOPHOLE FOR ME!

So I get there and start my nuclear program. They can't submit me. And once that's on the way, I'll declare myself the emperor of Ã…land, and I declare Ã…land an independent country. So, Finland will cry. But when it's independent, they can't invade me anymore. Why? Finland can't send their troops abroad!!! YES!! PERFECT!!

So why would I invade Ã…land, become an emperor and have a nuke program? Because it's about time someone taught those plague people a lesson. I'd be on CNN and BBC talkshows, as the emperor, and they'd be like 'Finland has opposed your ruling, what do you think about that?'.. I'd say, and this is what I always wanted to say, 'So? What are they going to do about it? THat's the bottom line, what are they going to do? THat's right, they'll continue to cry about it, like the little sissy socialists they are. They can do nothing. So if you ask me, they should just shut up.'....

And when my nukes would be ready, I'd make new laws about worshipping me. If they refuse, I'll nuke Ã…land from within. But who am I kidding, I'll nuke it anyway, but I want to humiliate them first. Why? Becausen I can. And because they deserve it.

There is love, but I think the problem is that, as Pekka implies here, that people mistake crushes and lust for love.

I have been truly, joyously and above all, loyally in love with my girlfriend for ten years now, but I didn't fall in love with her.

When I met her I was just ending the latest in a series of failed relationships that had mostly started by falling head-over heels in love, but it always went pear-shaped within two years. I decided never to trust the fireworks again, but to go for solid friendship instead, and shared interests.

We met and went out nearly every week for months, but we didn't sleep with each other, just enjoyed the company, the fun, the music, the sport, the walking, all the things we shared, and above all the friendship.

I found myself thinking - "hey, she would be a really rational choice for a girlfriend". What? Rational? Since when did reason have anything to do with the emotion of love, Mr Spock?

But Spock was right. Eventually we started sh*gging each other senseless, and sometime after that I was persuaded to make it a serious one-to-one - nearly a year after we met and started seeing each other regularly. Soon I realised I did love her, and for the first time I felt comfortable, safe, secure, warm, and deeply happy in a relationship. We trust each other totally, and loyalty has become one of the foundations of something amazing for us.

People who cheat lose respect for each other. Loyalty keeps sex beautiful and magical. Loyalty rocks!
