  • One question I've wondered about for a while...

Has there ever been a famine so severe that churches (at least one church) stopped having communion?

On first glance, I'd doubt it, since communion is really such a small portion of food to begin with...not to mention how hopeless it would look to people (or how ashamed priests would be) if it came to that.

But I wonder if any "experts" (or anyone here that knows anything at all) has any better info than a dumb guess.

My guess is yes, but not for the reason you're pushing...

My guess is probably not. A lot of famines are caused by poverty, and churches tend to have at least some money.
