Thought so. If you look at the recordings of napalm bombings, they look pretty much the same.
IIRC they used napalm in Apocalypse Now too (at least for some footage). Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Yeah, Pekka, I'm sure you are more than familiar with anal probes.

As to why they would need 50 of those babies and so massive resources, I think it has more to do with psychological issues than other issues. It's a show of force. It's about sending the right message; we are still here, and we're the top dogs, and we can make you pay for sneak attacks.
And also about dealing with a big problem better, with massive force you always make more of an impact anyway. It also builds up the morale of US troops. When everyone sees, the ones who take part in this and the ones who just watch it, well, it builds up their morale as well.
We're entering into a new stage of the war and the troops are trying to take the initiative back, I don't see that as being something feasible in there in this situation but.. it doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
Making the good kills there fast and wide, this will result into immidiate troubles for the insurgents in terms of resources. We might see hightened counter action because of this, but the final result of this is much more likely weakened enemy action for some time. They will build up back again but at least they have to work for it.In da butt.
