    I'm actually satisfied overall. Glad I got last year's AL Cy Young in the 5th.

        Looks like I need to grab another second baseman.

        My team looks good. Thanks Berz!

        • Here's my post-draft analysis of my picks. As the draft was going I have been working on an overall ranking for another pool - the RANK column here is where my pick lands on that list.

          Standout good picks (green): Todd Helton, Brian Giles, Jonny Gomes

          Standout bad picks (red): Michael Barrett, Julio Lugo

          Code:
          [I]POS	RND PLAYER PICK	RANK	DIF[/I]
          [COLOR=red][B]C	11.6 Michael Barrett (CHC - C)		126	168	-42[/B][/COLOR]
          [COLOR=green][B]1B	5.6  Todd Helton (COL - 1B)		54	30	24[/B][/COLOR]
          2B	6.6  Marcus Giles (ATL - 2B)		67	63	4
          3B	7.6  Troy Glaus (TOR - 3B)		78	87	-9
          [COLOR=red][B]SS	8.6  Julio Lugo (TB - SS)		91	113	-22[/B][/COLOR]
          OF	2.6  Ichiro Suzuki (SEA - OF)		19	16	3
          OF	3.6  Andruw Jones (ATL - OF)		30	24	6
          [COLOR=green][B]OF	12.6 Brian Giles (SD - OF)		139	91	48[/B][/COLOR]
          UT	14.6 Pedro Feliz (SFG - SS,3B,1B)	163	171	-8
          SP	1.6  Johan Santana (MIN - SP)		6	5	1
          SP	9.6  Brandon Webb (ARI - SP)		102	109	-7
          SP	10.6 Cliff Lee (CLE - SP)		115	127	-12
          RP	4.6  Brad Lidge (HOU - RP)		43	40	3
          RP	13.6 Jose Valverde (ARI - RP)		150	145	5
          P	16.6 Joe Blanton (OAK - SP)		187	164	23
          P	18.6 Oliver Perez (PIT - SP)		211	192	19
          [COLOR=green][B]BN	15.6 Jonny Gomes (OF - TB)		174	114	60[/B][/COLOR]
          BN	17.6 Robinson Cano (NYY - 2B)		198	166	32
          BN	19.6 Clint Barmes (COL - SS)		222	176	46
          BN	20.6 Chad Orvella (TB - RP)		235	274	-39
          BN	21.6 Corey Patterson (BAL - OF)		246	-
          BN	22.6 Chris Shelton (DET - 1B)		259	201	58
          However, my method of evaluation is obviously biased - I would love feedback from others on my picks - especially the first ten rounds.

          • I like your methods for evaluating and am going to check that out, which mock draft site did you use?

            • I believe that's his own ranking. Well he said he was working on it at any rate.

              • He did say that but why pick a guy 42 picks higher than you have him ranked...barrett?

                • Well, I assumed he did his rankings afterwards... and seeing where other catchers went to other teams.

                  • The rankings are an average from several rankings I found.

                    Here they are:
                    Sports Fanatics Top 300 Overall
                    Cafe Mock Draft
                    SportingNews Top 300
                    SI Top 270
                    ESPN Top 200
                    Yahoo! Bigger Board
                    Sons of Sam Horn Slow Pick Draft
                    Apolyton I Draft
                    Apolyton II Draft

                    Evidently I didn't keep the links for all of them.

                    This was just a thought in my mind up until I think mid-way through our draft, and then it took some time to collect the data and work everything out.

                    • Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Barrett was my last pick without the benefit of my (at the time still developing) ranking, because I snagged Brian Giles in the next round.

                      • Soriano agrees to play left field for Nationals

                        Umm, Stuie - you're gonna want to check out the waiver wire or trade possibilities for a 2B.

                          Why? If he's listed as a 2B, he'll stay that way the entire season. He'll just get the LF added to him.

                                No one loses eligibility. Or else it'd be super lame if Stuie had to drop a player to get a 2b because Soriano switched positions right before the season began.
