Wow- I never saw that coming.in a million years.

Now the United States may not even advance to the next round. First, we need to defeat South Africa. But we need help in addition to that. If Mexico defeats Canada, and Canada does not allow more runs against Mexico then we allow against Canada, then we are eliminated even if we beat South Africa.

We need to really take South Africa seriously now. We need to have our best pitching talent on the mound at all times and make sure we pitch a shutout.

to Buck Martinez for his management of his game. Our best offensive players such as Damon and ARod should have come in as soon as Canada took a 5-0 lead. Moreover, in the 8th inning, still down two, why was Brian Schneider still in there?

At least Canadian players got a good opportunity to showcase their skills. I would bet all those Canadian minor leaguers get put on the fast-track to the major leagues now...

Not quite true.

It goes by runs against per inning.

We allowed SA 8 runs in our win against them, and you 6 runs in our win against you for a total of 14 in 18 innings, while you have allowed a total of 8 in 18 innings. For you to be eliminated after beating SA you would need to give up at least 7 in that win (so that we could lose to MEX 1-0)

A Canadian is correcting is me on baseball rules, but given how Canada pwned us today, why not?

My mistake forgetting to count the runs you let up against us. Hopefully we'll get the chance to claim our revenge in the next round then...

Mexico is up 6-0 against Canada, so I guess that means as long as we beat South Africa and hold them to a reasonable score, we move on the next round.

We will be the winner of Pool B if Canada does not come back to win and Mexico lets up 3 more runs against Canada then we do against South Africa.

And of course, should Mexico go on to win it means no rematch against Canada, allowing Canada to keep it's title of being the best baseball country of the English speaking world.
