I guess I just found the British version funnier than you, because I don't disagree one iota that "The Office" is, far and away, the funniest show on TV right now. Especially now that "Arrested Development" is gone.

British version was funny, but at times painfully tedious. Some people liked that, but I found it annoying.

Oh, and Dwight is a much character than Gareth.

Though it would be funny if Gervais was on the show, as kind of a 'manager foriegn exchange', where Gervais' boss is shipped over to observe how American plants work. Maybe if Gervais writes more than one episode .

I gotta favor the US version...

Last night's was totally INSANE!!!! I was practically crying from laughter. I turned to my son and said, 'I gotta stop laughing so much, because I'm going to miss something if I don't.'

And of course, my son says about the show. 'If The Office was a girl he'd be accused of stalking it.

        BEST...SHOW...EVER!!!

Oh and Dwight's character would fit on this site perfectly...obsessive, self-important geek.

          Gareth is just plain creepy.

I like US version but still prefer UK version. American fatness didn't get me yet.

Gareth's creepy character wins all. I love Mackenzie Crook.

The difference is that the US network will keep commisioning series until it's gone stale and everyone is bored of it (Series 4 or 5 get my vote.

Gervais had the sense to leave us with 2 classic series, see Fawlty Towers for details.......

Yeah, but that leaves you Brits with far too few great episodes. The entire run of BlackAdder is unfortunatly too short. Seinfeld, on the other hand, perfection in length. Just as it was starting to get stale, they ended it.

British shows are always too short. Six a series, and that's all she wrote.
