  • Torino picture thread

Even if you don't give a damn about it, just pretend! There it is, at last, the AWESOME Olympics picture thread

    Piazza San Carlo

Via Roma, the most classy boulevard in Torino

Via Garibaldi, a nice pedestrian promenade turned into a modern art exposition

Piazza Castello was turned into the Medals Plaza for the award ceremonies

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

My friend Gabriella posing in front of Caffè Bicerin, definitely the best cafeteria in the world- their specialty is the Bicerin, a hot drink made with chocolate, coffee and cream (yes, cream)

On the evening, ice hockey at the Palasport Olimpico

Honestly, this picture sucks compared to the eye experience

    Some czech fans getting ready

      Czechs all over the place

Of all the people, I could never imagine seeing fans from the Netherlands, and Finland as well

      And who could he be?

      Finally the match begins

I can't take any picture of the game, as flashlights are forbidden. But cheerleaders are very good in warming up the audience without actually cheering for any team at all.

Czech Republic wins. No riots but a lot of people chanting "Czesky! Czesky!" and what I believe means "who doesn't jump is a slovak" (well at least the Italians were singing it along with the Czechs, and jumping all over with their beers.

            Day 2

Could it be that everything goes perfectly? No way! We miss the train to Cesana San Sicario, so 100 euros of biathlon tickets are going to the garbage bin. At least we can still save the day by going to the Mole Antonelliana, which hosts the National Museum of Cinema

            (net picture)

            Ok these are mine

On the roof of the dome, combinations of different stuff, from parts of famous movies to classical music and lasers are projected every 60 minutes, will literally have you sitting on those red chaises longue, watching an italian classic from one of those two screens and waiting for the next combination. You can also take the elevator and see the whole city from the 168 mt tall tower

Welcome to the trash-movies wing. You can watch a B-movie while sitting on.. toilets (you can see them on the right)

We spent 3 hours in there. And we almost lost our train (not again!) to Oulx. But we made it, at last

                Next stop: Sauze d'Oulx-Jouvenceaux

The presentation of the 12 finalists of the men's aerials event. And this is where I switch off my camera so that the flashlight doesn't kill someone during the tricks

BTW that's how the whole think looked like

                      Back into the city

And THE awful thing about these Olympics

                      That's all!

Oh. That's why it was so cheap.

                          Thanks for the pictures, Datajack!

But about half of them are way, way too dark. One appears completely black on my screen, the "Museocupola" one. If anyone has specific pics they'd like to see a less dark version of, I could gamma adjust and repost them. Let me know.

Here's what the Museocupola picture really looks like.

Winston- I don't know, they look fine on my screen. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Of course you can just adjust your screen. Your eyes will burn just a little.
