See, now, I know it's not a rational reaction, but when I read something like this, I think "death penalty."

    Ugh.

p.s. Alva - yeah, I read that when it first came out (right after the Tsunami, IIRC). People are such *******s.

          Manslaughter isn't murder. It's a seperate crime.

            That's why I thought it's 3rd degree.

Let the one among us who has no sin be the first to condemn this man.

But if not, then consider carefully how you judge even this man, for that same judgment will come back to you.

Sure, ok, let's get rid of all the courts & judges and police... um, no.

This man should be removed from society. Permanently.

consider carefully how you judge even this man, for that same judgment will come back to you.
Ok by me. If I rape a dying 14 year old girl, feel free to remove me from society. Permanently.

Police carry guns for a good reason - because of criminals. Should this man be put to death for his crimes? He is certainly worthy of it. But we all are worthy of death, because we all have broken the law.

If someone commits murder, or rape, they are answerable to the courts and the law. But if you are angry with someone for no good reason you shall be answerable to the law also. If you even say "You fool!" to someone for no good reason, you shall be guilty enough to go into the lake of fire.

God knows the hearts of men, and how we are enslaved to our desires. But this man - who's thoughts we don't know, and who may or may not have regret for what he's done - is so quickly condemed to hell by you (also a man).

Did not the same one who said "You shall not commit murder" also say "You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; you shall not commit adultery"? So then if you steal, but don't commit murder, you are still a breaker of the law, and are a criminal worthy of a criminal's punishment.

Yep, logic based upon superstition is always 'ing.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
