And the US hockey team would kick ass! But only if Don Waddell and Wayne Gretzky weren't put in charge.

Well, yeah, but we got the most oil from them 2001. They obviously wanted to destroy us then.
And the data only goes back, as you can see, to 1996.

now on topic: Iraq is climbing up fast, really given the above, why does US bother soooo much to have friendly relations with ME nations, they could just say to them fck off if you don't like us we'll go somewhere else and that's it. Billions of dollars in aid to Egypt, billions spent on Iraq, getting all huffed and puffed against Iran after the revolution (enough to support Saddam during 1980's)... hmmm something is not right there all in all
Interesting... for the current increase in oil price US could be getting its oil elsewhere, Russia is not even in top 10...

CALGARY, Alberta, March 2 (Reuters) - Oil major Chevron Corp. (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Thursday it is planning a major project in the oil sands region of northern Alberta that could produce more than 90,000 barrels a day by the middle of the next decade.
The company said it recently acquired five oil sands leases in the Athabasca region, covering more than 180,000 acres
(73,000 hectares), that could contain as much as 7.5 billion barrels of tar-like bitumen. A portion of that resource could be produced using thermal methods like steam-assisted gravity drainage, where steam is pumped into the ground to liquefy the heavy oil.
James Bates, vice-president of operations and asset development at Chevron's Canadian unit, said the leases could support daily production of 90,000 barrels or more should the company proceed with the development.
"This is a strategic investment in a large resource base," Bates said. "It's very early ... but (the cost) is going to be in the billions, not the millions."
Bates said the company will begin assessing its newly acquired properties next year, with a drilling program that will determine where a project could be located.
The project will be Chevron's second in Canada's oil sands region. It has a 20 percent stake in the Athabasca project, 60 percent owned and operated by Shell Canada Ltd. (SHC.TO: Quote, Profile, Research), while Western Oil Sands Inc. (WTO.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) also holds 20 percent.
The Athabasca project is capable of producing 155,000 barrels of synthetic crude a day from its mine and upgrading refinery. Shell Canada has announced plans to triple output over the next decade,
Shell Canada and Western Oil Sands each have an option to acquire a 20 percent interest in Chevron's new leases.
The properties are located about 123 km (76 miles) west of of the small town of Fort Mackay and 38 km (24 miles) southwest of the Athabasca project's mine.
Chevron is one of a number of companies planning to expand production from Canada's oil sands. More than C$30 billion
($26.5 billion) has already been spent on mining and thermal projects that now produce more than 1.1 million barrels a day.
Some studies estimate that an additional C$100 billion will be spent by oil companies in the region over the next decade, tripling output to 3 million barrels a day from a resource said to contain more than 175 billion barrels of bitumen, a reserve second only to Saudi Arabia's.

But, if for some reason, the price of oil dropped down below $30US/barrel, though, Mexico would once again be our main supplier, as Canada's goop is far too expensive to mine and process under a certain amount.

If the ME cut off it's oil production we would all be screw regardless of where our oil comes from because the price of oil would go through the roof. Mind you, Canada would make a lot of money, but we'd be screwed.
