Okay, I'm looking for a little guidance here. The Util and all those BN positions have me wondering what types of position players I should fill them with - what's the common thinking?

Util should be the best player from any position. I usually have it be a 4th OF, though a 2nd 1B works as well

As for bench spots, we don't have many, so I try to get at least one OF, 1-2 pitchers, a middle infielder, a corner infielder, and then whatever I think is needed for the remaining spot or two.

Don't have many?! There's six! For a guy whose only played fantasy hockey, that looks like a ton!

Thanks for the information. Seems like balance is desired then, as opposed to filling with mostly OF, IF, or SP.

You can have mostly SP or OF, and some have done that, but you'll making a lot of waiver wire trips for other positions.

No offense, but you weren't on my mind at all when I took Berkman. I've wanted him on a team for several years now and always waited too long so this year I got him on at least 2 teams and both in the 4th round. I took him 39th here, 37th at FFZ and he's a possibility for the 36th pick in my other FFZ league. Dont know if I want him on 3 of my 4 teams though, he goes down and I'm in trouble.

I took him 8 picks ahead of you, did you leave me a list with him as your pick? I dont remember it, but if you did, you can have him. I cleaned out my mail and dont have older PMs.

I have a different approach as far as my bench is concerned. I don't work off a formula of posistions rather if i have a weakness on my team i will get a guy on my bench who could take his place. If there is an injury prone player, a player in a platoon situation, one without a secure job, i will make sure to get a bench player who could sub for him. I also look at my team as far as stats are involved, if my team is light on speed, i may target a sleeper steals guy for the bench.
