  • Web Based RSS Aggregators.

I've decided to try using Camino (Mac Gecko based browser) as my primary browser for the next month or so. Problem is that it doesn't have an inbuilt RSS reader like Safari does.

I refuse to use a separate newsreader app, or to use an email client. It has to be available within the browser. I'm not using Firefox either, because Live Bookmarks suck donkey balls.

I have two requirements. (1) It has to be fast and powerful, and (2) It has to look good.

I tried Google's one and Bloglines, but both look like they were designed by a Civ Modder.

Trying Newsgator now (illustration below) which is nice, but seems a bit slow. A quick trip to Wikipedia tells me that there are about 40-50 popular web based RSS aggregators around, but I'm ****ed if I'm trying them all, so if anyone would like to recommend a good one, please do.

Oh... I apologize for having the RSS feed of a notorious homosexual pornography site open in this screenshot. I really should look before I take pics.

one of my friends uses gregarius, which requires your own server.

As far as other alternatives, I don't know--I rolled my own script, and it does wonderfully, for me.

I love Camino, but the absence of RSS functionality is a real pain. I hope they're working on it.

You don't need it. Head over to NewsGator or Bloglines and you can have it right in your browser.

I didn't know you had joined the computer elect, Boris.

I've been talking about it... sometimes even in threads you started.

I take it that you don't even click on the Mac forum anymore? I started a thread there about C3C for Mac.

I don't start threads on Macs... I finish them...

Posted responses to your C3C thread. Have a look at the insidemacgames forums and you will get better responses than Poly.

                  Apolyton has an RSS feed!?!

I work for a major financial company that is just getting ready to roll out RSS, and here my favorite gaming site beat them to it!

That's because some of your favourite gaming site posters nagged Markos about it.

I think it's one of the best features on the site.

Your company must be a bit weird. Markos didn't even know what RSS was until we asked for a feed, and it only took him a couple of weeks to become an uber master of it.
