Sorry if I directed it against you.
What I dislike is the general attitude by some, that 'we must have someone to talk to'. Many westerners have a constant need of having someone they could talk to. Dear god - go to a shrink. Enemies are not there for talking purposes.
Yes - I know that talking is the only real way to end a war. However talking to whomever you could find is usually plain useless. You have to find a person who is a powerful leader and has opinions which can be worked with.
Arafat was a powerful leader, but had opinions which couldn't be worked with.
Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) has opinions which can be worked with, but is weak and lacks motivation.
