conspiracy theory is different from conspiracies per say. Its a mindset that the world is manipulated by unseen hands.

Religion could be seen as one giant conspiracy theory.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

And there was a vast right-wing conspiracy to smear President Clinton.

Ehrh, wasn't that what he did to that girl ?

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I was just trying to make a point, AH. There are real conspiracies in this world, even at the highest levels of power. To make that factually proven point, however, frequently gets one accused of being a conspiracy theorist.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

              It wasn't exactly hidden.

Actually, it's the year the Maya calendar ends. It doesn't signal the destruction of Earth itself, but of humanity. 2012 is alleged to usher in an age of human- and natural-induced destruction that basically reshapes the face of the world and, of course, the poor bastards who survive it.

And, frankly, the way the world is going, I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see, at the very least, some sort of destructive war with maybe a natural catastrophe or two (or three) tossed in for good measure.

I wonder how many times we can screw up as a species before we really do step over the precipice and plunge into the endless night.

Yeah. I don't have much to base this on. But the Hunts are known to have hated King, and their attorney volunteered to defend James Earl Ray for free.
