The Dems are becoming nutjobs, at least the ones who're trying to appease the Kos Kidzs and the rest of the moonbats. They really will go the way of the Whigs if they keep moving to the left...

edit: Of course, Kerry probably doesn't want a filibuster of Alito. He just wants to score points with the moonbat base by proposing a filibuster that he knows the Democrats don't have the votes to support and therefore will never allow to happen in the first place. Dishonest and cynical, but not crazy. There may be hope for the Dems yet...

      I sure will.

        I certainly will.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Even so, if he manages to extend debate and Frist gets cloture, Kerry and Kennedy and a few others will look like total asses, thus burning their political capital. I'm betting that Kerry is banking on Harry Reid not letting any kind of serious filibuster proceed.

My bet is that Karl Rove managed to get to Kerry. There's no other explanation as to why Kerry would do something this reckless and ill-considered.

Even "kos", the pope of the wackjob netroots is trying to avoid calling for a filibuster without saying 'don't do it' or losing his "street cred".

          [edit]

I also forgot to mention that Kerry launched this from Switzerland. He can't even be bothered to come home to launch it

            Me too.

He wants to be the Howard Dean of 2008, with all the internet-raised money that goes with it.

Yeah, I saw that post. Rather odd that Kos is trying to quiet the calls for a filibuster while the New York Times and normally-reasonable bloggers like Drum are encouraging one.

Hmmm...Is Kerry really that stupid or has some 11th hour support been dug up. They only need 41 votes for the filabuster to be successful.
