2 crappy networks become 1 crappy network

This is very important, it means there only needs to be 1 HDTV channel (which is a lot of bandwidth -- ~19 Mbps) instead of 2.

This means Playboy HD, or something else can be there instead.

why would you want Playboy HD? Is there something you need to tell us?

as for HDTV, it's not looking good. Cable wires just don't have enough bandwidth. Esp considering I use it for the internet as well... Actually they would have enough bandwidth if they got rid of all the crappy channels. I have digital cable, and I have so many channels I do not watch.

I don't want it, I was giving an example for your benefit.

Think about it. High def porn, 5.1 surround sound. Orgies never sounded so good.

            Eh?

Sure they do. I use digital cable with HDTV, the problem isn't bandwidth on the cable wires but bandwidth in the satellites that we get the feed from.

Rogers has ~30 HDTV channels over cable.

too bad you can't porn over cable wires. Not the good stuff anyways. At least not in the U.S. I'm bored of porn anyways.

What I'd like to see is all the major networks and stuff like ESPN in high definition. Watching sports in high def. would be cool. And maybe the movie channels like HBO.

You can't get porn over cable??

My cable provided has PPV porn and VOD porn, in addition to the Sex and Playboy channels.

The equivalent networks in Canada are highdef...sure ESPN doesn't have a HD?

ESPN has HD, and I think even ESPN2 has HD.

Even though ESPN2 is in HD there are few cable outlets that provide ESPN2 in HD for some reason. I have ESPNHD, but not ESPN2HD.

Though ALL of the Big 4 networks are in HD (not all of their programming is, but most of their primetime stuff is), and which ever of these two "Smallville" is on (UPN, I think) is on HD, at least where I am.

HBO1 is in HD, as well as Showtime1, Cinemax1, and Starz1. The other premium channels for those packages (such as HBO2, HBOZN, HBOFM, etc) are not in HD.

Oh, we also get TNT in HD and TBS has an HD station, but as far as I know, they only broadcast Braves games in HD (they show so many movies that its a waste to have an HD channel, but hardly any HD programming)

WB and UPN are actually a good fit for each other because they cater to the same audience.

Still I like them better apart because of the competition factor.

I have Cox cable and they suck (though much better than Warner cable I had in Hampton, VA once).

I get all these crappy religious channels I do not want. So they feel they can charge me high prices for cable because they claim they are offering so many channels. What good are all these channels if I never watch them? I get crap like ovation and wam. I don't know what the hell they are.

I know for a fact I get NBC, and I think one other major network in HD. (not that I own a HD TV yet). I don't think I have ESPN, but I don't often check the higher channels (because they contain crap like ovation which I mentioned above)

Don't WB aim for suburban emo teenagers and UPN aim for urban kids?

I thought it was the other way around. They kind of criss-crossed each other. I think one network had Voyager, but the other one had Enterprise.
