    To quote Dennis Leary:

We live in a country, where John Lennon takes six bullets in the chest, Yoko Ono was standing right next to him and not one ****ing bullet! Explain that to me! Explain that to me, God! Explain it to me, God! I want it! God! Jesus! Now we've got twenty-five more years. Yeah, I'm real ****ing happy now, God. I'm wearing a huge happy hat, Jesus Christ! I mean Stevie Ray Vaughan is dead, and we can't get Jon Bon Jovi in a helicopter. Come on, folks. "Get on that helicopter Jon. Shut the **** up and get on that helicopter! There's a hair dresser in there. Yeah, go ahead in there, yeah yeah."

And you, on an individual level, are a prime and recent example of that. So drop your presumed claim to the moral high ground because it really doesn't stand up to even cursory scrutiny.

It's because the righties have secret government death squads to actually kill them.

I don't remember Winston calling for the death or extermination of any ethnic group en mass. Whether or not he can claim high ground, wishing for the death of a political opponent in a democracy is childish and he rightfully pointed that out.

Bull****, Sikander. Winston is attempting to tar the entire forum's left wingers with the actions of a few, regardless of the fact that in this thread only one poster has made loose comments that might back the thesis up.

Therefore, if he's going to claim the right wingers are the nice guys, he needs to be pointedly reminded that he lets the side down.

Or when he didn't think that a slanderous statement claiming the majority of Arab wanted the Jews exterminated/bled dry/what have you, was in any way anti-arab...

Besides, isn't it the right-wing that traditionally favours the death penalty?

I agree with Oerdin: Get well for your trial, Dick!

That one is very possiblely correct. For sure a large percentage of the Arab population does want the Jews killed or atleast driven out of their homes and if a few million die along the way then they wouldn't care.

It isn't slander if it is true.

For it to be true, we're looking for > 50% of the entire arab world, men, women, children - to want this. However lowly you must feel about the humanity of the arabs, I somehow doubt that.

But it is anti arab, whether true or not.

What? If it's a true statement, then it can't be anti-Arab, because it would be an accurate depiction of Arabs (mind you, I question Oerdin's claim as well).

In order for a statement to be bigoted or anti-(insert name of minority group), it has to either falsely depict that minority group, or take an actual fact of that particular minority group, and use it for distoritive purposes.

For instance, white supermacists sometimes use statistics that show that blacks proportionately commit more crimes than whites. While that statistic might have some truth behind it, those white supremacists often take it out of sociological context, and use it as a convenient soundbite without explaining the depth of information behind the statistics. This is what I mean by taking something that is supposedly true, but using it for distortive purposes.

                              That would be offensive.
