--"My Hime sounds like sailor moon."

I can see where the description given would give that impression, but it isn't at all like Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon is firmly in the mahou shoujo genre, but My Hime is quite firmly in the shounen action genre, although it might be better described as bishoujo action given the cast. It's probably worth giving a few episodes a chance to see what I mean.

--"I hate manga because it's in black and white and I've never been a fan of comics."

Um... okay. Well, it's your loss. There's a heck of a lot more manga than anime, and there's some quite good stuff that hasn't been made into anime yet. You can at least check out the animated portion of Berserk.

--"See, I told you Wraith was the Anime God on this board"

    That's OtaKing ^_^

Not that many here have watched Otaku no Video, but still.

    --"Neon Geneses Eva"

Might work, for the most part. I'm not sure he'll like how the series ends, but the mecha action in the rest of it would probably be enough, and there's always End of Evangelion for those who hate the TV series ending.

If you are interested in mecha anime,
StarLightDeath, Evangelion is a good one to check out. You might also consider Armored Trooper Votoms. Although the older character designs and music might not be to your taste, the action is definitely quite good.

For action/adventure, you might want to watch the Read or Die OVA. It's only three episodes, and feels a lot like a cross between James Bond and X-Men.

--"Also, Battle Angel Alita is a great manga. I have to assume there's an Anime of it somewhere."

There is, sort of. It's out of print in the US, so it could be hard to find these days. It didn't do well in ratings in Japan, so only two episodes were ever made. It really isn't as good as the manga, but it isn't bad.

    --"Paranoia Agent and Lain"

Two great shows, but given his tastes above they don't really hit any of the buttons he's indicated liking. Neither is anything at all like an action series.
Could be worth a rent or something, though. StarLightDeath, let me know if you're interested in other genres, or if you're just looking for the Bleach/Naruto style shows.

who doesn't appreciate mangas (expecially like Berserk) knows nothing about anime either

          I think you might like:

MÄR - The manga was good, but it soon turned into that kind of shonen action series which goes on forever because there are always bigger and better foes to defeat. I hate that, but you seem to like them. I think there's an anime series, but I'm not sure how well it turned out.

Shakugan no Shana - I don't know anything about this, but my brother recommends it.

King of Bandits Jing - Action & humour, that's all you can say about it, really.

Samurai 7 - Based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

One Piece - Madcap action and humour on the high seas.

          3X3 Eyes

          Escaflowne

          GetBackers

Shaman King - Kind of similar to Naruto

Hokuto no Ken - Ancient classic from the 80's, my friends really liked it, but I never got round to having a look.

          Shows I like are:
          Furi Kuri
          Azumanga Daioh
Jungle wa itsumo hale nochi Guu
          Cromatie High
          Beck
          Argento Soma
          Cowboy Bebop
          Read or Die

          Shows that look promising:
          Afro Samurai - http://www.afrosamurai.com
          Oban Star Racers - http://www.savtheworld.com/eng/oban.php3

I'm just not a fan of comics, both American and Japanese. I think they are boring and I really can't get into them. I also don't like most anime because it is corny and pointless. Naruto and Bleach I liked alot because it was intense and I felt like I was watching a really good movie or reading a really good book. I just don't get that from 99% of other anime. I just watched some Hunter X Hunter and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great like Naruto and Bleach. I didn't have that feeling of never wanting it to end. I also find that ****ing fishing rod he fights with to be really corny. The guy needs a sword or something. I don't really like the mech animes, but some can be good. Basically I'll tolerate other animes but I watch them mainly out of boredom. The ones I really crave are few and far between. Also, it doesn't have to be like naruto and bleach because I watched cowboy bebop and it was decent and I watched that wolf one (I don't remember the name) and that was pretty good. I guess I have a very limited taste in anime.

Also, on a side note, why does TV suck so god damn bad now? All the shows now are either cookie cutter crime shows like CSI and Law and Order, or they are ****ty reality shows (I especially hate the celeb reality shows). What happened to shows like Babylon 5 (that's the last really good show I remember watching where I wished it would never end)? Entertainment is really beginning to suck and movies are just as bad. There's no originality left.

i forgot to mention igpx. I've seen naruto, not bad but the ones i listed imho would be more enoyable to an adult or otherwise mature person.

...IGPX? LOL I can't force myself to watch that **** on cartoon network. That one, zatch bell, and the boondocks I turn the channel on. In fact, since I no longer watch naruto because I watched it in japanese (I had no idea how bad English voice actors are) it has resulted in me not watching adult swim anymore for the most part. I've seen trigun (I really liked that show) and cowboy bebop (not my favorite but not too bad), never heard of those other 3 though so I will check them out. Thanks for the recommendations.

robotech and gatchaman are two seperate titles sorry for the typos. robotech has mechs and gatchaman is an update of the old g-force/battle for the planets that power rangers and voltron seem to have stolen. If you don't like mechs you might as well pass on those two.
Samurai Gun has no mechs neither does golgo 13. I also forgot to mention crying freeman.

--"I wonder what SLD's life would have been like had he grown up before color television existed..."

                                Or before televion period...

                                --"3X3 Eyes"

Probably not, on this one. The story isn't finished in the anime, he'd have to go for the manga. And the company that was doing the English release of the manga has gone out of business, so even if he was willing to read it I'd have to hesitate.

                                --"Escaflowne"

Not sure about this one. I'm pretty sure he'd hate the ending, and the rest of the series is probably too shoujo in feel to appeal to him.

                                --"GetBackers"

Shounen action is definitely not my preferred genre, and I know nothing about this one, but I'm passing on another recommendation for it. From the description I was given it might be right for SLD.

                                --"Hokuto no Ken"

This one could be exactly what he wants. I shouldn't have forgotten about it.

--"Naruto and Bleach I liked alot because it was intense and I felt like I was watching a really good movie or reading a really good book."

We definitely have extremely different tastes. My main problem with the shounen action series is exactly the reverse; they all suffer from horrible pacing that makes suspension of disbelief impossible to hold.
I call it Shounen Action Pacing Syndrome. Primary symptoms include ever lengthening recaps at the start of every episode (recycle at story arc breaks), stopping in the middle of life-or-death combat to have ten minutes of exposition, sudden flashbacks in the middle of combat to things that haven't even been foreshadowed before (as a cheap means of building character sympathy, etc), and so on. Both Bleach and Naruto suffer from this to quite a degree.

--"The guy needs a sword or something. "

Why? He wasn't out looking for fights, he was trying to find his father. Who was the previous owner of the fishing rod. Kurapika, on the other hand, was looking for a fight, which is why he had two swords.

--"I guess I have a very limited taste in anime. "

Heh. No offense meant, but so far you seem to fit the Narutard stereotype. Unless you've gone to an anime con, you aren't really one, but they've become the raving hordes the past couple of years.

--" What happened to shows like Babylon 5"

If you liked Babylon 5, you might want to check out Crest of the Stars. Depends on which part of B5 you liked, but it's probably worth a try.

"If Guu's having fun everything's all right."
-- Guu ("Jungle wa Itsumo, Hale Nochi Guu")
