Walmart apologizes for being racist

Am I racist for lauging at this story? I really couldn't help it.

The retail giant apologized Thursday after its Web site directed buyers of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Planet of the Apes" DVDs to consider DVDs with African American themes.

And yes I took certain liberties with the thread title (as I always do).

Some of those films are great. Unlike the other two. Walmart is doing its bit for the advancement of American learning.

Planet of the Apes was pretty much the only widely released movie that hit on the issue of race at during the time it was released...and the "theme" was that it came up with movies about Martin Luther King Jr. I wouldn't be surprised if peopel bought both.

I find it interesting that Tim Burton remade both of those movies...

Apparently Wal-Mart thinks African-American people like Tim Burton?
