  • TV show 'BigBrother' to become the new parliment/senate?

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

'Anti-Iraq war MP George Galloway has been accused of arrogance and self-interest for taking part in the Celebrity Big Brother contest.' - from article.

"I'm a great believer in the democratic process. Big Brother is watched by millions.

"More young people vote during Big Brother than in the general election. I hope they'll all be voting for me over the next few weeks." Mr.Galloway.

So is this a shrewd move to move with the times and use publicity to engage the mostly un-engaged younger voters? Is this a sign of things to come for our political process?

BB might actually be entertaining if GG is in it. I might actually watch for once in my life...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I was thinking at first 'what the hell is he playing at?!' but when put like this, I suppose it is actually quite an inspired move...

To be honest, those who will vote in a general election will not bother voting regardless of whether their candidate has appeared in Bog Brother or not.

Those who have seen George Galloway in Bog Brother are as unlikely to vote as they ever were. It's an utter waste of time. Mind you, I have to laugh at those who have based their choice in the election for Bog Brother, when they could be wasting their time in the General Election, but choose not to.

Well naturally it won't have any influence on my voting choice - I hardly ever watch TV any more because it seems to have nothing but this kind of crap on...

All Galloway is a prize ****er anyway who openly congratulated Saddam Hussein. No wonder the left plays up to him. "Respect" my arse!

I loath Big Brother - so if i was actually ever to be in a position to vote for Galloway, it means i never now would

But surely it's the policies he puts forward that would make you vote for him or not....

Or is that exceptionally naive in today's political climate?

Why is he on Big Brother and not addressing the needs of his constituents?

If the US Senate is going to make any moves, they should do it now. He won't be able to respond.

Hang on a second, hasn't George Galloway got another job to do, like, erm, representing his constituency in the House of Commons?
