I dislike the term "de-pantsing"
You wouldn't say that you're "pantsing" yourself whilst donning pantaloons, so it doesn't make any sense to say that you've been "de-pantsed" when somebody sneaks up behind you and strips you of your dignity. I prefer the term "de-trouserified."

The way I heard it is not "depantsing" but "pantsing" is pulling their pants down.
And since pants is automatically plural (it has an s on the end) it seems pair is appropriate. Same with glasses. One glass, a pair of glasses. One pant, a pair of pants.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
