  • Is it me, or are movies not funny anymore?

I am kind of worried I'm losing my sense of humour (go ahead and make the joke I never had one). But it just seemed like movies in the 80's and 90's were funnier than movies today.

Or perhaps it's because movies are geared towards a younger audience these days.

So I'm looking at the previews to this movie Grandmas Boy. Granted, I haven't seen this movie. But usually the previews/trailors show the funniest parts of the movie. But in this case, I didn't laugh at the trailor at all. What's up with that? This isn't the only movie. There's a couple other recent movies that didn't look funny at all either.

Maybe it's just a bad spell. So go ahead and recommend me some funny movies that came out in 2005.

I saw the 40 year old virgin recently and it has a couple of good jokes.

Wedding Crashers is the movie they are advertising now (for DVD). It doesn't look funny either.

Yeah I kept meaning to see 40 year old virgin. Though I'm not sure I want to see a movie about myself. . Okay I'm not really a virgin, but I'm not that far off. But I like Steve Carrell alot.

funny movies I have enjoyed recently - 40 yr old virgin, wedding crashers, and especially bad santa

I was playing computer, having a smoke and a drink at the time, if I had watched them in the cinema I would have enjoyed myself much less

saw wedding crashers at the theater, laughed a lot.

anything with either ben stiller or vince vaughn is almost guaranteed to make me laugh.

If you're counting movies such as those by Monty Python, then most movies these days don't stand a chance imo.

I went to go see "Wedding Crashers" and "40 year-old Virgin" this summer.

2 movies, $14 in tickets, 4 laughs. I could've given my four year-old a couple of No-Doze and had a more amusing time.

And how the hell Ben Stiller has a career as anything other than a small-town news reporter, I will never understand.

Interesting. What exactly happens when you give your kid No-Doze?
