  • Digital camera help needed

I was in need of some new SD memory to my camera, and found this:
Kingston Elite Pro SD 1 GB

I was told to go check out kingstons site, and use their memory search to see which cameraes could use the chosen SD card, which I did... but one out of two things went wrong here: Either the search doesn't work, or I'm using the wrong search
I tried to search for my camera (CR-5130), but the closest thing I could find was CR-50 series, which said the camera could take any kind of SD cards. Now I have the SD card home, but it doesn't work at all (some memory error). I have no done some more searching, and found the same problem to be with some other cameras (Canon Ixus 40 and 50). The person who posted just after them said they could have avoided buying something that doesn't work to their camera if they'd just have checked www.kingston.com as it clearly say it doesn't work for those cameraes... So I checked, and for those cameraes it says the same thing as with the 50-series: No problems at all
The same goes for Hp Ipaq 2210 (some says the site clearly says the card doesn't work, while my search cearly says it does work)
Am I looking at the wrong place on the site?

After having done some reading I have considered selling the my camera (for other reasons too) and maybe buy a Canon PowerShot A620 instead... does anyone know if the above SD card works with this camera? Or does anyone have any recomendations? The price should be the same as the Powershot or cheaper

I work at a camera store. The A620 is a solid camera, and it does use the SD card (which has already become the new standard). I haven't heard about any card issues with that camera, but then, nobody around here uses Kingston SD cards.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

SD is pretty standard. If your camera uses it you'll be fine.

But apparently it seems like there's a difference in the SD cards, since not all cameraes can use the one mentioned in OP. But those who can use it, says it's a much better card than the standard ones...

I dunno, haven't had a problem like that before.

You can bring your SD card back and get a replacement one. It could be bad, you know.

From what I know, the problem is that the mentioned SD card is a bit more advanced than standard SD cards, which is what causes the problem (Some cameraes knows how to read such cards, while others don't)
Since I'm probably going to buy a new camera anyway, I wont send the card back (unless I know for sure, that my current camera should be able to read it)

I have a 1gigabyte Kingston card for my Canon digital point and shot and it works fine. Two years ago it was the **** but now a 1gb card seems to barely be big enough.

It depends on the image settings. Of course, if you are talking about a full 8 megapixel, which is overkill for most circumstances, you run out of storage quickly.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
