Heroes of The New French Resistance are atheists. They do not beleive in God and say so openly. They just use Notre Dame, Christianity as symbol of France of the good days cause no more symbols of the French glory remained.
And by the way the religious message of the book is "You can be religious or you can not, but never be half-religious, semi-religious or quasi-religious. First concession is never the last concession. Concession never leads to compromise. Concession is the way to defeat. Nor religion nor culture must change to be politically correct."
muxec, you're a Jew, right? Did you know that The Protocols Of the Elders of Zion were written by the Russian secret service? My first thought upon reading this was: "well those pesky Putin's minions, they're at it again". Only this time the target is not the Jews, it's the Muslims.
Anyway, is the book any good? I don't care much about political correctness.
Indeed you can read it and think about it as about pure fiction. You know, Rebel Alliance desperately fighting The Evil Empire, heroes and cowards, life and death, knowledge and ignorance. This book was even compared with The Lord of The Rings by some critical reviews.

Despite the admonition in some faiths that ignorance is bliss, most religions are adamant that it does more harm than good. For instance, Islam views ignorance as a particular and unique evil that can and should easily be dispelled: "Seek knowledge, even as far as China." - Muhammad.
