Turkey pot pie isn't bad though I tend to like it with fewer veggies since they make the pie crust soggy.

I'm curious - it seems to me Europeans tend to think of pies as a meal while Americans think of pies as dessert. Would you agree or disagree?
I mean as an American when I saw the thread title the first thing that came to mine was 'strawberry-rhubarb pie.' Even although I just ate some pork pie the other day and we do have pot pies. Just seem to me that pies as meal are more extensive on the other side of the pond.
Take bakeries for instance - bakeries in US tend to be all about bread and sweets. OTOH bakeries I've seen in Europe while they do offer sweets they also had meat dishes which I have yet to find in a US bakeryComment
