I'm just glad we can put this whole global warming thing to bed.

same here, I always get a chuckle out of efforts tease me with boasts about temperatures in the 80F and higher range. I guess I just prefer to not have to sweat when I'm not exerting myself.

I'm against the ridiculous number and type of measures that we are being co-erced into putting into place as a result of the tree-huggers scaremongering.

I'd like us to understand better our climate and in particular the feedbacks and feed-forwards, of which we currently know very little.

We shouldn't be basing policies on ignorance.

Saving energy and reducing fuel costs? Damn Islamophiles .

You ask for more evidence which is absolutely fine, no argument here, but in the previous sentence you describe previous research as "scaremongering", and to me there's a contradiction in your position if you claim to be neutral. Knowing you, you're more likely to be finding some group of people against whom you can rail in some misguided attempt to make yourself feel intellectually significant. Undoubtably you've got bored of being raped for being a racist, so you're going to move on to environmental belligerence. I suppose next it'll be Linux, followed by Christianity, Scientology, homosexuality, until finally when you're 40 you realise that you're still a virgin and everyone on the internet is laughing at you!

If we wanted to reduce fuel costs, then we should remove the Climate Change Levy and re-nationalise our markets.

But that would increase the supply of energy, exhausting our supply of fossil fuels as well as ****ing up the environment if you concur with global warming. Even if you dont, as an economist you of all people should understand the implications of having a rapid fall in the supply of oil, as opposed to one that is manageable no?

Besides, I would rather the government make their decisions on the basis of the strongest scientific case of the day, rather than some maladjusted idiot with no grounding in the field, who claims that a powerful scientific argument is "scaremongering".

Can you show me the "powerful scientific argument" aginst climate change being driven by predominantly non-human forces?

EARLY WARNING of Heavy Snow Issued by the Met Office at 09:45 on Sunday, 25 December

OVERALL RISK ASSESSMENT: The probability of disruption due to severe weather conditions in parts of the United Kingdom within the next 4 days is 80 percent.
This warning is an update to that issued at 09:45 on Saturday 24 December 2005.
The Met Office expects snow showers to develop over eastern parts of the United Kingdom from Boxing day evening onwards. The showers will become heavy and prolonged in places.
There is potential for several centimetres of snow to occur widely, and in excess of 15cm in a few locations, with Kent and parts of E Anglia most vulnerable to the heavier falls. Icy roads will be an additional hazard.
                      Some travel disruption is expected.
This warning will be updated by 1000, tomorrow, Boxing Day.
