I'd rather take a benefit day than be given the day off randomly. Just too irrritating trying to reschedule meetings and shift work around otherwise. I'd much rahter be in control of my time off. Though, when I (briefly) had a cubicle job, I would have basked in the glory of an unexpected free afternoon. Its a bit different if you have a job you actually care about.

I don't get vacation at my job (though to be fair, my job is so easy it's like a permanent vacation).

You guys are really making it difficult for me to threadjack with random posts of irrelevant topics.

I got half a day off without being charged a vacation day once.

It was christmas day to be exact. My boss said I wouldn't lose any hours (I get paid by the hour), and I'd get paid for the full 8 hours when I only worked 4.

I always work christmas day, and I'll be working christmas again this year.

Why is it that country music, unlike other genres of music, is so predominantly white? I mean, we see white gangsta rappers who have emulated (pathetically) of what was originally of black singers.

So what is up with country music being more predominantly of one race in terms of its singers compared to other genres?
                            Simple.

Who listens to country music? Red necks.
Where do rednecks come from? The Southern States
Where did country music originate? The Southern States
Whats the South famous for? Racism

I like some country music, and I am not a redneck.

Also, obviously, today's country singers are not racist so I don't know how blacks could fairly correlate racism with country music.

the answer is usually the most obvious choice. And in this case it's because country music sucks.
