Nope...still need more oil.
If they don't have a coating for low-emissivity, they aren't doing much for you. And double-paned windows haven't been around terribly long; do you have any idea how many homes and businesses in this country don't have double-paned windows (with or without low-e coating) because of that? A great many more than those that do, that's for sure.Last edited by DRoseDARs; December 20, 2005, 18:42.The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

And there isn't enough in ANWAR to make a difference... (with regards to our dependence on foreign oil)
Well, I don't know about that. The US imported an average of 12.5 million barrels/day in 2005 and ANWR can supply us with about 1.5 million barrels/day, which is a 12.5% reduction in our "dependence" upon foreign oil.
It sounds like everybody is arguing that since ANWR can't solve it in one fell swoop, there's no use trying.

No, the arguement is being made that there's no point in trying through ANWR. The ends don't justify the means when there are better ways of reducing our oil dependancy. The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

It's not like China is going to reduce their oil consumption. We are going to need more oil. This combined with a good energy conservation plan can ease oil shortages in the future.

The Senate blocks a provision to a military spending bill that would allow oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Earlier, the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Dick Cheney was needed to pass a measure to trim federal spending by nearly $40 billion.
NPR is reporting that the ANWR drilling amendment has gone down in flames.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
