      Yep, GP through Ebay.

I sold the camera "as only", sent it out and then got emails asking where the memory card was, charger was etc. He seems to think these items are intregral to the camera, the fact that he has a camera without them should tell them they arn't.....I've tried to be reasonable with him but I've had enough.

You do meet a few "characters" through Ebay, the secret is never to leave your feedback first....;O)

FWIW, I'd say the charger is integral to a chargeable camera.

Even if the guy you sold it to is "old"...

you can buy a universal AC adapter at any store... they are cheap...

I assume that would work... I lost the original charger to my camera and bought a new one.

Although maybe my camera is different. It uses chargeable batteries and just a regular AC adapter... not a unique charger unit.

reds... did you specifically say that stuff would not be included?

can you link to your item listing? that would allow me to make a judgement
To us, it is the BEAST.

My camera has a cradle for charging and connection to the computer, that's what I assumed was meant by a charger.

But even in the case of regular adapters that can be had in stores, it would still be preferable to have the one that originally came with the camera; I would say it definitely qualifies as integral.

              Winston,

This camera just came with a power lead. No cradle/.

              Jugde away Sava

Key points are that there are no mention of anything else but the camera and that I ask for any questions regarding the item.

I offered the guy a refund, but he said the camera didn't work (he hadn't said it was faulty before). My take on it is that he's plugged it into a wrong adaptor and fried the thing.

I thought you said the guy complained that no leads were included. If he's unable to use the camera ("it doesn't work"), I'd say maybe he has a point when claiming you should have been more specific.

Anyway, I would never buy a camera that's being presented along with two sausages and a bit of pocket change.

Oh. They should bring in more than the sausages.

If he paid £43 for it, send him £10-15, say you're sorry for the poor description and wish him a Merry Christmas.

I would say it all depends on whether you regard the accompanying leads and charger unit as integral to having a camera that works.

I do, and I think most people do. Clearly your buyer does.

Under your policy, you could also have removed the chargeable battery - and still claim you didn't advertise anything you didn't send. To me, that's a ridiculous position.

I sold a camera, nothing more. I can't see where I said I'd include anything more than the camera?

You want me include a 512mb card and a laptop to D'L it to? Perhaps a colour printer as well.......;O)

And please note thats my first negative feedback in more than 80 Ebay transactions...

You'll have to pardon me, but I honestly feel you were being deceptive instead of descriptive in your advertising of this camera. And thus, I think the buyer has reason to feel dissatisfied with the deal.

I suggested a refund of £10-15 for this. I'm not here to tell you what to do, just what I'd do if it were me. Which is kind of a moot point, since I wouldn't have advertised it like you did..

Well... your description is not good at all. You don't say what is specifically included or not included in the auction. The guy has a legitimate complaint with that. Except, this guy probably plugged the wrong kind of power adapter into the camera and caused it to short out, thus, breaking the camera. So he broke it. He is probably not entitled to a refund.

I would not send him a refund if the camera is unfixable. If you can fix the camera, deduct the cost of the repairs from his refund and then send his money back on the condition that he agrees to remove his negative feedback.

My Ebay rating is well over 300. I sell a lot of things. And my positive feedback is over 99%

It's best to tell people EXACTLY what the auction is for. Exactly what is included... What IS NOT included. Make sure you think of everything. Make sure you tell people what not to expect. Make sure they know what they are getting.

I've sold tons of stuff... 12 disc changers, 18-inch chrome wheels, 12 inch sub woofers for cars, amplifiers, DJ equipment, PC hard drives... so I have lots of experience in this.
