  • Christmas gift help!

I called my daughter tonight and asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She said she wanted a"Pearl with things in it".

Any idea what this could mean?

Oh, my Daughter will be 7 next month.

    ACK!

I think it means you should trade in your daughter. The one you have is obviously defective and you need to replace her.

Or...in the alternative, you can take her to the mall and have her point out what she means.

Except that she is 1200 miles away, that would be a good idea.

I've been giving this some thought.

She could not be referring to a real pearl or even something pearl sized because the "things" inside would be too small to interest a 7 year old.

My guess is that she saw something round and white, probably about the size of a Christmas ornament, with a clear or open side, and some kind of scene inside... maybe a nativitiy scene or a fairyland scene.

Does this sound vaguely familar or possible?

Who's going to be the first to make the rubbishy programming joke?

Ask her to send you a picture of it, if she's got a computer where she is, or ask an adult where she is to use whatever means appropriate to get this knowledge out of her.

along time ago there was a little doll named polly pockets. They were minature dolls in little scenes like her kitchen with little kitchen stuff etc, though i dont think they make this toy anymore. I cant help him since my daughter is now 11 and doesnt play with dolls anymore.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Oh, that's your solution for everything.

Anyway, it's clearly a metaphor. A metaphor for something expensive and nearly impossible to get. But Zkribbler makes me think snow globes.

Polly Pockets is huge right now. Go to the girl side of Toys R Us and it's all Polly Pockets and Bratz dolls.
