    Der Untergang

    Just saw it. Strong movie! Not very feel-good, especially if you have children. How could Frau Göbbels kill her own kids? What a sick bastard... I am happy to live in the time and place I am. Rich, healthy and happy

    It's a good movie. Too few historical movies are.
    Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

        I liked it when I saw it. Bruno ganz was very good as HItler, and the actress who plays the main secretary is HOT.

        I did not like the guy who played Goebbels- Goebbels wasn't just a lackey. And yes, the scene were the Goebbles children are poisoned is shocking.

        Never seen so many suicides in one film.

          At least it's a WW2 movie where the Germans speak German. That's really rare in these days of Hollywood domination

                Excellent movie, though very depressing - though it was mitigated somewhat by the interesting characters they followed. I found the SS doctor to be really interesting - we don't usually associate people in the SS to be moral beings, and it was interesting to see someone trying to reconcile his loyalty with his humanity. They should have had more of him.

                And I don't think I've seen so many suicides in all the other films I've seen combined.

                  Yes, when I saw it in the states, it was in German with subtitles.

                    They rarely dub movies foreign films in the US anymore. Its almost always subtitles, except with anime movies, which they dub most of the time.

                    LC: Too bad she hasn't been in more films. Thought I guess not too many Romanian girls make it unto film.

                        He used some genuine (illegal) recordings of Hitler talking to Field Marshal Mannerheim in Helsinki in soft voice to get the right tone. Hitler himself didn't want to be remembered as a soft person and had his soldiers to stop the taping, but the Finnish radio technician had another secret recorder. It's about the only recording of Hitler speaking in a normal soft voice instead of a heated agitated speach.
