Yep. My mouse cursor regularly disappears. also, I can't double-click on icons on my desktop. I have to click once, and then press enter.

Hmmm. OK. It will be less costly for you to buy a new mouse than to try and troubleshoot the problems this one has. That's the standard answer you will get from 93.8% of techies on the intarwebs. The rest of them will say that i'm being wasteful and what about the environment, and the trees, the polar bears who will be ****ed, various Amazon tribes, our decadent lifestyle and whatnot.
But you will still end up buying a new mouse, most likely.

Remove it from the Device manager and reboot. It should re-detect and reinstall it. See if that solves the problem.

Hmm, I had that problem with an old computer several years ago, and eventually realized it was caused by an instant messaging program (ICQ, I think). The mouse would only vanish after I'd been chatting on that for a bit.

Do a virus sweep, reinstall drivers, and see if that fixes it.

Open up the Mouse icon from Control Panel. Look for any changes to the settings.
