when I was in, I only had to do the bidding of Bill Clinton (and George H.W. Bush). But I was willing to do it. Though I was in the "safe" service. I was pretty much invincible aboard an aircraft carrier. I was safer there than driving down the city streets in my city. Yeah I know the USS Cole has taught us the modern navy isn't invulnerable to attack as they used to be. But it would take a lot of explosives to do anything to a carrier.

It's a site that helps out families of those deployed overseas. Now, (unless someone can find me a better link), WHY IN THE F DO WE NEED CHARITY ORGANIZATIONS TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN TROOPS?????

Come on Dis, you know how those recruiters work. All that juicy crap about "serving your country," high tech training, pay for college.

Then of course there is always the World War 2 angle, which is played up at every level in our society.

God you would think this country would realize alot of sh1t has happened since World War 2 and that this isn't what happens every time we decide to go pick fights somewhere.

It's my personal belief that the American policy of minimizing the risk for their own personnel will cost them the war.

The Americans use "overwhelming fire power" and don't hesitate to kill 100 innocent civilians if 10 guerillas are hiding in the same street block, rather than losing a few of their own soldiers by using more accurate but risky tactics.

As an example, when running low on ammo in a tense situation, the Brits fix bayonettes and charge, while the Americans call in an airstrike.

Killing innocents just piss people off, creating more guerillas, which in the long term will create more American casualties.
