"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" sold an estimated $181.4 million worth of tickets, including $101.4 million in North America, where it easily eclipsed the first three films and ranks as the fourth-largest opening ever, distributor Warner Bros. Pictures said on Sunday.
"Potter's" foreign haul of $80 million was led by Britain with $24.6 million, a new record for a three-day opening; Germany with $19.8 million, a new record for a four-day opening; and Mexico with $6.8 million, the third-best opening.
The film was No. 1 in all 19 foreign territories where it opened, the Time Warner Inc.-owned studio said. It adds such markets as Japan, Italy and Spain next weekend, with France and Australia in the first week of December.
Exit polling showed that more adults turned up than usual, indicating that the franchise's appeal is spreading beyond families, said Dan Fellman, president of domestic theatrical distribution at Warner Bros.

Have you read the books?
Oh, and even the movies should have shown you that while Professor Lupin was a werewolf in Prizoner of Azkaban, he is a friend to Harry.
Though the DADA teacher in the next one will blow the ones you've seen so far AWAY in terms of devilish behavior . As for the DADA teacher in the 6th episode... well, you'll have to figure that one out for yourself .

Wonder how they'll cut THAT book up!! Though I guess they can trim a lot of the teen angst parts. Have him get with Cho, fall apart, and move on.

Well, let's see, Radcliff was born in 1989, and the 1st film was in 2001, so he was already a year older than Harry at the start (Harry was 11 in the first book.) Now he's 16, when Harry is supposed to be 14 - and those are formative years we're talking about. The 5th film is due 2007, and the difference will be 18-15 - it's only going to get worse. If the last two get made, the final one could be 22-17 difference - a very big stretch for the imagination.
Well, firstly, the movies are filmed earlier than they are released, so that's a little misleading. Secondly, it's still not that bad yet. Emma Watson was barely 15 when this movie was filmed, and she was playing a Hermione character who turns 15 about a quarter of the way into the movie. (Hermione was born September 19, 1979, almost a full year before Harry.) Emma is actually younger than her character by the final scene.
OTOH, Rupert is getting way too old. He was sixteen during filming, and he turned seventeen by the release.

It does when the story is better
The story was better, but it was too rushed for my liking. People should be more willing to watch 5 hour films.

Easier said than done .
But I'm sure the deleted scenes will add up to at least an extra hour.... hopefully they'll allow you to watch the movie with the deleted scenes embedded.
