He's a human being. During his life, he was an entertainer, which doesn't make him different than any other actor or comedian.

and celebrities' lives are more important than the rest of ours...

Jesus Christ, will all you Verto-esque pieces of **** get the **** out of this thread. It's bad enough when you have a wrestling thread and morons come in saying, "hurr-hurr, it's fixed you know" but to have people coming into a thread mourning the death of a good man is taking the piss.

All I'm saying is, what has this man done that makes his death so much more news worthy than anyone elses? Is it so much more honorable to abuse drugs and alcohol, and THEN kick the habit, than it is to NEVER fall into that trap in the first place? Or are we honoring him because he was a "pro wrestler"?

if Eddie Guerrero is a good man, I'd hate to see your definition of a bad man

that's a fair position to hold Gramps

I admire you for thinking that way

however I don't agree with you, I'll just leave it at that

originally I was just going to quote ixnay and be done with it

someone else had to take the discussion outside the thread

                    not naming any names

this person brought up some points I didn't agree with and I felt I had to comment further

I'm not here to insult the guy (Guerrero), but I take issue with people calling him a role model and putting him on a pedastal, etc.

yeah if you want to bash Eddie then make another thread for it, because this is not bashing thread.

People who take them too seriously can't understand that Eddie was a GREAT entertainer, millions of people saw him, entertaining, and he was a great athlete.

It's true that there's lots of steroid use in pro wrestling. It's true that heavy usage is likely to cause an early death. It's very likely that either steroids or pain killers or drugs caused the early death. I say pain killers and drugs because many athletes are so broken up that they get addicted to pain killers and even drugs because of it. Tough business.

None of the less it doesn't take anything away from his ability to bring a smile on peoples faces.

/me skips over most of this thread.

I assume the cause of death was his heart exploding. That guy was huge, so I would imagine he took a lot of "supplements" that probably weren't all that healthy for him. Perhaps that bee stinger-whatever crap he was in commercials promoting did him in.

I never liked "pro" wrestling but I did know of this guy and I kinda liked him. Damn shame.

pro wrestlers should not be role models
