It's security cam footage mixed in with interviews and general news reporting. They show the girl after she stripped down, but blur out the naughty bits. Also show her apparently preparing for the sex act, but don't show any of the actual act.

Slightly voyeuristic, but no more than is normal for a primetime news magazine.

And yes, a lot of news nowadays is far too voyeurist for my tastes. Strong, graphic depictions of real human suffering should be saved for when that suffering is widespread, demanding a stronger response. Showing actual footage of some poor woman's ordeal in an isolated case (or as one of a relatively small number of related cases) smacks far too much of shock for shock's sake.

News magazines are, indeed, usually the worst of the crop. They tend to focus on the most depraved incidents which, by their very nature, are so unusual that the story has both an intensely disagreeable flavour and very little socially redeeming value.

There are, however, a number of news magazine shows which are of a different nature. 60 Minutes was, back when I used to watch it 10 years ago, pretty far removed from that sort of thing. In Canada The Fifth Estate was a fairly intelligent show the last I saw it.

Dateline et al are, on the other hand, mainly putrefied pieces of crap.
