I hope that most dont care if the vet is gay purple yellow or green and that we just appreciate what they have suffered and done. Maybe i missed your point and i am sorry if i did

I remember the consternation of the Air Force when our pilot was shot down during the Bosnian war and then rescued several days later. They wanted to present his girlfriend to the media as part of the hero hoola, but they couldn't find any indication that he'd ever had one.

Until the day gays and lesbians DO have equality, there is nothing wrong with acknowledging the obstacles they face that some other groups of veterans simply do not face.
