As I mentioned in the Poly Meeting thread, I'm doing theatre in Edmonton and Calgary Canada over the next few months, and thought it would be fun to meet other 'polytubbies.
I'm currently in Edmonton. I pm'd nye and we met for a drink tonight. We met a bar a couple of blocks away from the apartment I'm staying at. He said he also lived near the bar.
As it turns out, nye has a condo in the same building that I'll be living in for the next 12 weeks ! Edmonton has about 780,000 people. This building has about 20 units in total, so I'm wondering who the other 'Poly posters are in the other units.
NYE mentioned to our cute waitress that we had met on line
I think she misunderstood...
(As an aside, the bar we were in was nearly empty. We had been talking for a few minutes when a rather handsome young man at an nearby table came over and asked if I was Jim Bell. I said I was but I couldn't
quite place him. Turns out he was my cousin Heather's son, Bryan, who doesn't live in Edmonton, but just happened to be in the nearly empty bar I was in. I hadn't seen him in a few years, but the lucky kid does
look a bit like I did at his age...)
We also figure that this would be a good time for all Edmonton (and other Alberta or Saskatchewan posters) to meet.
We were thinking early January might work well.
So this thread serves three purposes-
1) Post if you would be interested in an Edmonton Poly meeting in January '06;
2) Post if you have experienced any weird coincidences in the last year... they seem to be happening to be on a daily basis right now;
3) Post if the usual trolling threads aren't interesting tonight/ today.
