I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

        Seems Gibson was reading Diamond...

I doubt this movie will make nearly as much as the Passion. The inbuilt religious crowd is not going to let their kids go see heathens doing human sacrifice, and it won't be playing in any churches.

FYI, mayan is the language, "maya" is the people. [/nitpick]

But then again, the new age crowd the world over could be quite happy to watch it. Mayan religion is quite fashionable these days.

And the new movie he is directing "Apocalypto" is ambiented in pre columbian times and spoken in Maya.

I think it is pretty cool.

First his PAssion of the Christ done in Airamaic now this. I know he's just trying to get noticed by doing something different but I seriously doubt most of the movie going public speaks ancient Mayan or that most actors speak ancient Mayan so really want they'll get is some warm fuzy PC crap that anyone who does speak Mayan won't understand.

It's pure publicity stunt and nothing else.

BTW After having read 1491 (a book about pre-Columbian Americas) I must say the Maya were a bunch of brutal savage mother ****ers whose own stupidity brought about the fall of their civilization.
