On 5 charges, perjury, misleading, and obstruction of justice.
According to the prosecutor, Libby was the first official to identify Wilson's wife to a reporter. Not indicted is the VP Cheney, not even named as an unindicted
co-conspirator.
But according to Libby's notes, Cheney discussed Wilson's wife with him. So wasn't Cheney the one who told Libby to deal with the matter? Are we to assume Cheney in no way discussed what to do about Wilson's wife, that Libby decided on his own to out her?
And where is the charge for outing her? That was what all this was about, right? Does that mean no one violated the actual laws protecting her identity? Then other than the fact the spirit of the law was partially violated - the notion that we shouldn't out people who were undercover beyond a statute of limitations - what was the point of all this?
There is no way Cheney and Libby (and others) didn't plan this response to Wilson... But if the prosecutor cant even decide if she was outed, something is wrong.
