Canada, US take top spots in Rock Paper Scissors World Championships
Toronto man is 2005 Rock Paper Scissors World Champion; US players win silver and bronze
Toronto, ON, October 23rd 2005...Canada and the United States are both celebrating today after taking the top three medals at last night's Fourth Annual Rock Paper Scissors World Championships at Toronto's Steam Whistle Brewery. At 2:00 am this morning it was Canada against the US in the final match, when Toronto lawyer Andrew Bergel played the winning throw of paper to take the gold medal, $7,000 CDN, the Championship trophy and the title of best Rock Paper Scissors player in the world.
The silver medal and $1,500 CDN went to Californian student Stan Long. New Yorker Stewart Waldman took the bronze medal and $500 CDN.
