... Oh, and from what I hear, HBO is NOT happy about the ratings Rome is getting. It has been renewed for a 2nd season, but it may go the way of Carnivale and that be the end of it.

Well usually I don't care so much (maybe karma will take care of mp3 downloaders ), but in this case, I'd rather have people pay for HBO so that they could continue to bring us shows like Rome. Rome isn't cheap for one and neither are the other shows they have on (Carnivale got canceled because of the cost combined with low ratings ).
I think people that put out good work should be rewarded and not have their product downloaded for free.
These people whine about how XXXX is no good, not worth their money etc...but then they download it or otherwise acquire it.

Also, the episodes don't run synchronised.
I saw the first two but wasn't really impressed and I really had high hopes.
Weak dialogue, rather poor acting, too much nudity (if you're gonna show one boob, might as well show a 100, it will adult rated anyway. ).Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Look, the problem for most of us downloaders isn't that we're unwilling to pay; it's that we have neither the time nor the inclination to sit down in front of the TV at a certain moment on a certain day every single week. I want to support the creators and justify the immense expenditures needed for historical dramas like Deadwood and Rome, and if there were a place where I could download new episodes HBO.com or elsewhere for a reasonable price and watch them when I like, I'd do it. If they've failed to realize the growing obsolescence of their medium it's not my problem.

It's a shallow rationalization. You can look at it any way you want; the truth is that you are stealing someone's work."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine
