Well then it's obviously a democrat scheme to pave the way for Hillary in the coming election.

At this point, Bush would be retarded enough to appoint Condi, because she's a friend and loyal. He wouldn't have the class to appoint a successor on the Republican side who would be a clear frontrunner for 2008.
But I seriously doubt a resignation is in the works. It would bring up the spectre of Spiro Agnew. If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

I like that link that said that Condi being appointed VP was an extra rumour spread by Cheney to make sure the repugs couldn't get rid of him, just in case they ended up with a black woman who was pro-choice as President!!Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
Jon Miller: MikeH is a shockingly revolting dolt and a masturbatory urine-reeking sideshow freak whose word is as valuable as an aging cow paddy.

There has been lots of talk in recent years about Condi being a good choice to run in '08. This could be a tactical move. Since Cheney isn't going to run, elevate Condi so she has a better position from which to run in '08, and she can be the VP who keeps the legacy going.
I bet Republicans would much rather have Condi than McCain.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

Condi wouldn't make it past New Hampshire. She's never held elective office and hasn't been involved in domestic policy. Think of it this way - Would you have wanted Madeline Allbright or Henry Kissenger (if they were Americans) elevated to the VP spot? I think not.If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

I bet the Democrats would too, considering it would all but guarantee them a huge win."The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned

Personally, I'd love to see Condi as Veep, because then the Bushies might go back to thinking that the State Dept is irrelevant and appoint another token moderate like Powell -- I'm thinking Richard Luger -- to run it."I have as much authority as the pope. Ironically, given how liberal the Foreign Service is, the two most beloved SecState's in recent memory were Powell and George Shultz, because they were great administrators who treated the diplomatic corps as integral to the mission of State.
