Well, our traffic is ****ing horrible, and this despite a high density of alternative roads. This pretty much shows that even with big efforts on traffic information and even with a dense alternate network, people still flock to the highways.

Roads create traffic, you can't solve traffic with more roads. Everyone who played SimCity knows this.

Ehm no, building more roads does alleviate traffic congestion in Sim City.

Traffic expands to fill up new road construction. There are limits, but most urban places have yet to reach them.

In general, I found the French autoroutes to be awesome - light years ahead of Canadian highways (although that's not hard) and better than US interstates. The traffic around Paris is a special kind of hell, though.

Driving in Paris is a concept that fills most British people with horror and probably everyone else in existence. Except in Rome...

sims are idiots, they just take the most direct route, even if you build a perfectly good road next to it.

Parisian drivers aren't filled with horror either. But for a diehard pedestrian like me, the very concept is a special brand of nightmare

It is said that, when you're a Parisian learning to drive, there is a special test of manhood.

You have to drive in the Champs Elysées roundabout

I don't want to be a man! Mommy!

I thought that the easy part was to get in - the difficult part was to get out

After all, it can't be worse than going through a Maltese roundabout - they even drive in the wrong side

I don't know which Sim City you're talking about but in SC3K it most certainly does. This is due to the simple fact the amount of trips taken by simcitizens remains the same if you build more roads.
