I don't know anybody in my nieghbourhood who would lock their houses while inside.
In fact, in the whole city, I know very few do.

If you got rid of guns people would just start stabbing each other. Socio-economic and cultural factors are way more imporatant than the avialibilitly of guns when it comes to the homicide rate. People who think gun control is a cure-all are fooling themselves. We should be paying more attention to keeping kids out of gangs and improving the conditions of people in poor inner city areas where a lot of that violence occurs. My support of gun control has more to do with supporting things such as trigger locks that prevent accidents. My dislike of the NRA has more to do with that it is lead by crazies who think governemnt is evil than with thier stance on gun control.

We have gangs here, we have impoverished ghettoes, we even have gang wars (there was a full fledged gang-war between several ghettoes that took place one year ago). We also have many people with knives.

Yet, our homicide rate is drastically lower than yours. Maybe that's because, in our gang wars, people tend to hit each other with baseball bats and nuchakus rathen than shoot at each other. Maybe that's because robbers don't fear to be killed when stealing someone.

We do have crime problems, which are just as real as yours. Yet the lack of guns makes them far less deadly than yours.

If guns are scarce, I have some problem to see driveby shootings replaced by driveby knife throwings.

Further, you have a reasonable chance of running away from a knife - that's a little problematic with bullets.

Lastly, killing of inocent bypassers will drop like a stone.

that's right, stabbings are extremely common place in here, yet usually the victims survive, even from multiple stabbings to torso and face and neck. I guess our doctors are so good veterans fixing stab wounds, kind of like field medics in war with their most popular surgery and stuff.

And with knife oyu have to be next to the person. Still a big chance the victim survives.

ALSO I personally hate blades more than guns. I would almost rather be in gun fight than knife fight. I have some sort of bladephobia. Also when you pull out a gun for demanding or defending, there's chances no shots are fired if no one else is armed. With knifes? ****.. it'll go down..

Maybe they haven't learned to kill people will knives yet...


I am not saying gun control DOESN"T reduce homicide rates, I am saying that gun use isn't the ONLY reason for high homicide rates.
