  • Ender's Game

Hey, I just read this book (and really liked it, though the end, with Combat School seemed a bit rushed). I'm looking at some of the sequals on wikipedia. Apparently, Speaker of the Dead, the 1st sequal won the Hugo and Nebula awards as well (first time an author won them twice in a row). Xenophobia seems to be ok, and then the 4th book apparently was crap.

The first book of the 2nd (Bean) series sounds cool (kind of like a Rosencranz and Gildestern version of the story), but I don't know about the rest of the Bean story.

Any info would be appreciated. Though I don't need it right away, I'm going to be reading the 1st book from the Ice and Fire series.

I've heard that all the others are trash, and also that the one written right after Ender's Game is ok

I liked Ender's Game, but haven't read the others.

The whole series is good--at times, some books (particularly the middle Shadow books, the last one was better) meander off into some fairly heavy-handed religious areas. That's my only complaint...it really didn't fit the tone or subject of the series.

I preferred the Ender's Shadow series to Ender's Game.

Actually, I presume he was referring to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead by Tom Stoppard. An excellent play, and one I've had the fortune to see twice.

We did Hamlet in school but I never followed the lessons. Some weeks ago I triedto read it again, got bored after 5 pages. It's such a shyte book, but then so is Romeo and Juliet, so it's probably Shakespeare's fault. I did enjoy my Faust and my Nathan, is it in bad translations or what?

I do rememebr there was some Rosencranz character in Hamlet now, BTW.

                          edit: ah, Ender...
