What I thought was that if you drink diet soda rather than regular soda, you won't gain nearly as much weight in comparison -- not that you will LOSE weight.

Diet soda is about as relevant as drinking water-- you can gain or lose weight depending on the remainder of your caloric intake.

Flubber, yeah.. my friend used to say that the biggest scam of the world is selling bottled water.. I didn't get it. After years, I got it. I didn't even know they actually sell bottled water .. It seemed absolutely insane to me, and still does, except in the most dirty areas ofthe world.

I seriously don't understand why people drink diet soda.

I understand why people drink regular soda. It tastes good.

I understand why people drink water.

But diet soda? It doesn't taste good, and it doesn't hydrate/refresh you like water. There is no benefit to it whatsoever.

And if you read the link I posted, the artificial sweeteners affect your metabolism in a negative way, and can prevent weight loss!!!

Oh, I have no problem with ice water from the faucet here where I live. I usually drink three to four glasses of that a day.


But when I'm in the mood for caffeine without the sugar, I want a Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Vanilla Pepsi, or the newer version of Pepsi One -- where I can actually find it.
